HANOI TO SAPA MOTORBIKE TOUR ON ROOF ROADS
Hoang Lien is the highest mountain range in Northern Vietnam. Fansipan, known as top or roof of Indochina is on this range, near Sapa. High elevation, cool weather, terrace rice fields, impressive views and colourful hill tribes all make this Hanoi to Sapa motorbike tour a fantastic off-road ride in just 5 days. Given Sapa is a very touristy place, the roads to get there and back are just wonderful. Come ride with us and see amazing roads, views and meet friendly people. This motorbike tour is most suitable for experienced riders.
Looking at the below photo, we will ride through many terraced rice fields. Imagine how great it is if you rice at the time the crop is ready.

Day 2: Nghia Lo – Than Uyen. ~140 km, ~6 h.
Today we ride on a wild and windy road. We go through the Mu Cang Chai massif, almost as high as the Fansipan. From the top, we have one of the most beautiful views of North Vietnam. Once in Than Uyen, we can go around visiting villages.
Night in a hotel.
Day 3: Than Uyen – Sapa. ~140 km, ~5 h.
Honestly, today we have least riding hours of this Hanoi to Sapa motorbike tour. Therefore, we can stay up a bit late or walk around. Than Uyen is mainly populated by Flower H’mong and Dzao people. Then ride toward Sapa. In reality, we have an easy track for 100 km and asphalted mountainous road for the last 40 km. You can stay in Sapa mountain town. Otherwise, if you feel going further and the weather is nice, just keep riding until Muong Hum where we stay with Giay people. This portion has 40 km of dirt road but a beautiful riding.
Day 4: Sapa – Vu Linh. ~200 km, ~7 h.
We start riding down to Lao Cai and then we go to Thac Ba lake. Until Luc Yen, the road is easy and asphalted. Next, a secondary road along the Thac Ba lake, through Dzao and Tay territory until the traditional village of Vu Linh where we stay with our friends.
In the evening, we have a party with the host. Dao men drink a lot of rice wine and they will invite us a few rounds! This welcome is exceptional.
Day 5: Vu Linh – Hanoi. ~180 km, ~6 h.
